Usually valves are at rear, on the side or inside garage. 1st/turn off each valve inside, 2nd/open outside valves 2- Clean out the leafs in the gutters and use a water hose to spray and clear debris in downspouts. 3-If your heating system is a hot-water radiator, open the valves slightly to bleed possible air in pipes and close valves when water appears. 4- Keep your furnace area clear of all flammable items. 5- Check your exterior doors and windows seal quality, replace or add weather-stripping. 6- Prepare sensitive landscaping with coverings. 7- Drain all hoses and exterior pipes. 8- Remove any window a/c units.
