The Habermehl family tradition of building excellence began in 1963 when Gordon Habermehl started "Habermehl Builders" in the Muskoka Lakes district with a vision to build creative, quality homes while providing good customer service. Gordon's younger son Dwight, with his father's blessing and a shared passion for the work, began Habermehl Contracting Ltd. in the Halifax region, carrying forward the same values and vision that built the family business.

Today, Habermehl Contracting is a full-service design, build, and renovation company offering custom home building, home renovations, home restorations, home additions, leasehold improvements, tiny homes and backyard suites, inclusive home design and aging-in-place solutions, accessibility consulting (certified through the Rick Hansen Foundation), and home design and consulting services. Their goal is to lead clients from their dreams all the way to a beautiful, completed reality, taking the complexity, pressure, and time consumption out of the renovation process so clients can focus on other life demands.

The Habermehl team is led by President and CEO Dwight Habermehl, who ensures every project is completed with the same excellence and quality his father valued. The company's core values center on creative solutions and design, personal customer care, uncompromising quality, professional communication, and integrity in everything.

Habermehl serves the greater Halifax Regional Municipality including Bedford, Sackville, Fall River, Hammonds Plains, Tantallon, Dartmouth, and surrounding communities. They are a longstanding member of the Nova Scotia Home Builders and Renovators Association and hold BBB accreditation with an A+ rating.
