COUNSELLING
To address underlying psychosocial tensions that arise from academic difficulties, clients require counselling to manage academic stress, family expectations and responsibilities, and other personal life stressors. The Centre will assist clients to use existing strengths to develop healthy coping mechanisms and stress management techniques, and build a social support network.
TUTORING
Building a business environment that is founded upon engagement and relationship-building, the Centre will offer parents and students an opportunity to explore the multi-faceted layers/nature their academic/relational problems within their social milieu. This, in effect, will assist parents and students to move towards a more solution-oriented focus.
EDITING
Individuals will have the opportunity to conveniently e-mail their essays, theses, personal statements, resumes, cover letters, and other documents online or in-person and have their work edited within the required deadlines. With each editing job, the Centre will assess for grammar, punctuation, thesis quality, organization and structure, and overall style and presentation.
We inspire! In this age of apathy, confusion, and fear, youth and adults need to know they are loved, valued, and have purpose in their lives. We will encourage them to persevere and pursue their goals despite obstacles.
We enjoy working with youth! Youth have a passion, potential, and creativity which is unique to this age and makes it enjoyable to speak to this population and motivate them to be themselves, to be different, and to become a catalyst for change in their families, schools, and community.
We communicate! We encourage youth to know when to listen, to speak up, and to ask for help from parents, educators, and helping professionals who care about their socio-emotional and academic well-being.
